Women's
Ministry Night Breakthrough
Dear Sisters,
Time
to kick off the fall season's first women's ministry night? Whether you
are a speaker or a meeting planner, heres a breakthrough activity
from Smart Thinking: Quick & Easy Ideas For Your Womens Ministry
coming soon from Jubilant
Press.
Best Friends For Two Minutes
Need a get-to-know-you night?
The participants are instructed to count off by twos. Each even-numbered
woman is instructed to group two chairs together, facing, and sit on one
of the chairs. She is then given a sheet of paper, a slip of paper, and
a straight pin. She is instructed to note her number on the slip of paper,
which is collected in a hat, and on the sheet of paper, which she will
pin to herself.
The hat is passed around among the odd-numbered women with each drawing
one number. They note the number on a separate piece of paper and the
slips are gathered again and redrawn. Depending upon how many women you
have, you can determine how many times they will draw.
Then comes the fun! A timer is set for two minutes. At your signal, the
ladies find their first even-numbered appointment. They have two minutes
to introduce themselves and get acquainted before the timer rings and
they switch partners.
You want to draw up a list of fun, non-threatening questions for the women
to ask one another, such as favorite desserts, colors, movie, or shoe
size, etc.
