Cup of Love

Announce ahead of your meeting that each woman is to bring a coffee cup or mug. At the meeting, as the women come in, have each woman label her mug with her name and phone number with a piece of masking tape on the bottom. Be sure to have several extras mugs on hand for newcomers or those who forget.

Instruct the women to set the mugs on a table with plates of cookies and other finger foods. Tell the women that they are to randomly choose a mug or cup as they fill their dessert plates with goodies. Do not
serve beverages at this time.

Once everyone has their dessert plates filled, have them turn over their mug and find the woman whose name and number is on the mug. Tell the women that everyday when they use that mug, they are to pray for
that woman. The phone number is there for them to call and give encouragement and find out how they can pray for one another. Encourage them to make their calls after the meeting so the women will have
privacy to share and everyone will have personal interaction with two women between meetings.

The women may then fill their mugs and drink out of them while they get to know to their “Cup of Love” prayer partner. There will be a lot of talking and milling around as the women find their partners.

You need to decide ahead of time how long your Cup of Love prayer partnerships will last. You may wish to switch partners once a month or keep partners for an entire year. For More ideas, see Secrets to Planning A Successful Big Event.

More and more Christian women are choosing singleness. What does this mean for the future? For the church? For women’s ministry? For the woman who chooses singleness?
