What if I'm Gay?

Hi Dear One,

First, I just want you to know that I love you and care very much about you as a person and as a friend. I wish you were sitting here with me so you could see that I really do care about you. I must admit that I had thought about not answering this question because it's so controversial. Yet, you need an answer, however, what you do not need is my judgment. So I will try to answer this without making you feel as if I am your enemy, your superior or that I am judging you. I am not. But as a mom, this is what I would say to my own child, if the question arose.

Please forgive me if this answer hurts you in any way. That's certainly not my intent.

But know that ANY sex outside of marriage is considered sin.
The Bible says the act of same gender sex is considered sin.

Okay, don't get upset, let me show you why I think this is so...
First, know this 'sin' is no worse than any 'sin'. It's no worse than the sin of lying or stealing or anything else.

Therefore we are ALL sinners, and that includes me.
But this is why I'm worried about you. Did you know that anytime we are sexually intimate with someone else we become one with that person's soul? The problem is this can lead to a lot of tangled feelings and heartache....which may explain your conflicted heart.

Here's what you can do...

Take these physical/soul connections you have with others to God. Don't worry, He knows all about it already. He loves you and will not reject you when you come to Him. Give all of these connections you have to Him. Ask Him to break all past soul ties in Jesus name.
Next give God the whole question you have about your lifestyle and ask Him to lead you and to guide you as to what to do. You may find that God may lead you to be a stronger person and may show you, you are to break off physical relationships. He's often led hetrosexuals who were having sex outside of marriage to do the same. It's difficult. But when God leads you, you will find peace when you follow His leading.
You may make mistakes, but keep trying.
You may also have to made difficult decisions, but ask God to turn it all into good, even the painful parts.

God is not against you. He loves you and wants to protect you.

I love you too. And if you were my child, I would never stop loving you, no matter what.

God never stops loving you either. He's standing with open arms, waiting to embrace you.

Let Him.
