Finalists for the (2007) Golden Scroll Awards Announced By Advanced Writers and Speakers Association (AWSA)
The Advanced Writers and Speakers Association (AWSA) recently announced the 2007 finalists for the Golden Scroll Awards for Publisher, Editor, and Fiction Editor of the Year. Finalists will be honored at the Seventh Annual Golden Scrolls Award Banquet in Atlanta, at 1:00 PM July 8, 2007, at the Westin Peachtree.
This year's Golden Scroll finalists are:
- Publisher of the Year Award — Baker Publishing Group; Harvest House Publishers; and Moody Publishers.
- Editor of the Year — Philis Boultinghouse, Howard Books a division of Simon and Schuster; Vicki Crumpton, Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group; and Kim Moore, Harvest House.
- Fiction Editor of the Year— Erin Healy, WordWright Editorial Services; Kristin Kornoelje, Baker Publishing Group; and Sarah Long, Bethany House a division of Baker Publishing Group.
The Golden Scroll Awards go to editors and publishing houses best demonstrating outstanding ministry partnerships with their authors.
On February 11 th, 2007, AWSA member Bonnie Keen presented the Member of the Year award to Janice Chaffee shortly before Janice graduated to heaven.
AWSA, an outreach of Right to the Heart Ministries, consists of over 250 top ICRS women authors who publish and speak nationally.
Linda Evans Shepherd, AWSA founder, will also present a special Lifetime Achievement Award to an outstanding member of the Christian writing and speaking community.
Bestselling author Lysa TerKerust is keynote speaker for the Golden Scroll Awards and Sharon Hoffman will emcee. Authors Karen O’Connor and Karen Porter will present the awards. Recording artist Bonnie Keen will perform the special music, including a parody dedicated to the editors and publishers and written by Martha Bolton. Allison Bottke of the God Allows U-Turns Project will announce the God Allows U-Turns - Strength of Choice Award to a person within the publishing industry who displayed the courage to boldly share his/her faith while experiencing formidable life challenges.
